The successful and simple installation of a K-Sure Belt Support at a hard rock quarry site in New Zealand took two men just 45 minutes to retrofit to the existing conveyor transfer point.
Click here to read this NEW customer case study, and how the K-Sure Belt Support has eliminated a material spillage problem that was occurring constantly as there were too few idlers under the belt at the loading point. This problem is known as “belt edge sag” and the “bowing” shape creates gaps under the skirting, and results in ineffective material containment.
The K-Sure Belt Support’s job is primarily to eliminate this spillage. It also improves productivity because the quarry’s maintenance team no longer needs to manage the physical clean-ups, as well as the clean-up costs.
From a conveyor equipment perspective, the transfer point skirting lasts longer because it is not being damaged unnecessarily by the hard rock application. Also the overall tracking of the conveyor belt improves as well because the impact of the rock hitting the unstable belt doesn’t push it off-centre.
