IQA branch meetings firstly for North Queensland and then in Canberra were given valuable conveyor belt tracking advice this month when Kinder & Co were invited to be guest speakers at their monthly meetings.
In a show of hands at last night’s Canberra gathering, 90% of attending members said that they did not own a belt tracking device. More than 50% realised that they were managing belt tracking incorrectly, and were adjusting using the head and tail pulleys rather than leaving them square.
After the informative dinner presentation, supervisors were very appreciative of the technical advice. Often when on site belt tracking is tackled using site specific inherited methods that have been practiced for years before. Kinder & Co’s advice was described as refreshing by one ACT IQA branch member, and that it would definitely start a rethink and change in ineffective habits now that an alternative approach to belt tracking had been presented.
Everyone attending the presentations was provided with a belt tracking advice paper to take away with them for future use on site. If you would like a copy of this paper, call one of our sales engineers on 03 9587 9244 or email them on [email protected]
