As Kinder celebrates its 40th anniversary, we continue honouring the people who have contributed to our growth and success. Our Staff Journey Series has already featured Bart Fox, Ian Hall and Anthony Ockers. Today, we highlight the story of someone whose commitment and steady development have made a meaningful impact within the business. This is the journey of Nalini Dhamodaran.
A Beginning Marked by Opportunity
Nalini joined Kinder in 2020 in an Administration role within Logistics. From the outset, she felt supported and encouraged to develop her skills. It did not take long for leaders to recognise her capability and potential.
“Started my journey with Kinder in Nov 2020 in an Administration role within Logistics but was very soon recognised for my skills and suitability; I was moved to the Finance department, where I was upskilled and offered professional growth; the learning and recognition have been great in this journey so far.”
Her transition into Finance allowed her to take on more complex work, gain technical knowledge, and contribute in a way that directly supports Kinder’s long-term stability.
Making an Impact Through Excellence
Nalini speaks with pride when reflecting on her key achievements. Her contribution to strengthening Finance has been both practical and meaningful.
“One of my proudest achievements has been helping the Finance team deliver accurate, reliable reporting while strengthening internal controls and ensuring policies are followed. It’s rewarding to know my work makes a real difference and provides a solid foundation for the business to plan and grow.”
This commitment to accuracy and consistency has helped reinforce strong financial processes across the organisation and continues to support informed decision-making.
Values Lived Every Day
For Nalini, Kinder’s values are not abstract concepts. They are visible in the way people work together, support one another and approach challenges.
“I see Kinder’s values are at the heart of everything we do,” she says. “I reflect Kinder’s values in being accountable, working collaboratively, and looking for ways to make processes smoother and more accurate. Company culture here is one where people are approachable, and there is a genuine focus on doing things the right way.”
Her description reflects a culture built on teamwork, respect and a shared commitment to doing what is best for the business and for customers.
A Supportive Environment that Feels Like Home
When asked what she enjoys most about being part of Kinder, Nalini immediately thinks of the people.
“Every morning, I look forward to coming into the office because of the team, their support, and the way everyone helps each other. It’s a workplace where you feel comfortable, included, and part of something.”
This sense of belonging and connection is a recurring theme across the organisation. Nalini also values the opportunities to continue learning.
“I also really appreciate the learning opportunities here. There’s always something new to pick up, and I feel like I’m growing both professionally and personally.”
Growing with Confidence and Support
Nalini’s career path at Kinder reflects an environment where people are encouraged to challenge themselves and build confidence through hands-on experience.
“Kinder has supported my professional growth in a lot of ways. I’ve had plenty of opportunities throughout my time here, starting with the initial training when I first joined, which gave me a strong foundation. Since then, I’ve had ongoing mentoring and support whenever I’ve needed it, and I’ve been encouraged to take on new tasks and responsibilities that have helped me build my skills and confidence. The continuous opportunities have made a big difference in my development.”
Her story shows how long-term learning and supportive leadership can help people build rewarding and sustainable careers.
