Recently, Kinder Australia had the privilege of hosting a practical conveyor training session at Boral’s West Melbourne facility. It brought together plant operators, maintenance planners, asset and operations managers to explore practical ways to improve conveyor health, performance and reliability.
Training Content & Delivery
The session was led by our very own Peter Laskey, who walked attendees through a detailed program covering:
- Belt cleaning strategies for reducing carryback and enhancing safety
- Optimising transfer points to reduce spillage and improve flow
- Belt tracking techniques to maintain alignment, extend equipment life, and cut unplanned downtime
In addition to the theoretical components, we deployed our demo trailer on site so participants could observe and interact with real conveyor solutions. The hands-on display gave attendees a tangible look at strategies in action.
Onsite Inspection & Collaboration
As part of the visit, we toured Boral’s conveyor infrastructure across their facility. We examined key areas and responded to their request to inspect a few systems in particular identifying opportunities for improvements and discussing possible upgrades. This added layer of insight makes the session more than just training; it becomes a working dialogue.
