Jacob Kerr joined Kinder Australia in October 2022 and is now a Mechanical Engineer in the Research and Development team. With a Bachelor of Engineering Honours in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science majoring in Materials Science from Monash University, Jacob brings a unique combination of engineering and materials expertise to his role. His journey in the bulk handling industry began with hands-on experience in mechanical drafting while completing his studies. Growing up on a family farm and working in grain handling, Jacob developed a practical understanding of machinery that continues to shape his engineering approach today.
In his current role, Jacob is focused on developing new products that provide innovative and practical solutions to longstanding industry challenges. His responsibilities range from conducting conveyor audits and designing orders to providing technical support for sales and performing quality control checks on incoming goods. Jacob thrives on the creativity of using CAD and 3D modelling software and finds motivation in helping others solve complex problems.
Jacob’s goals include advancing Kinder’s product offerings by delivering solutions that are both unique and beneficial to the industry. Outside of work, he’s passionate about sports, playing cricket in the summer and baseball in the winter. Looking ahead, Jacob hopes to contribute to pioneering advancements in bulk handling while pursuing his goal of winning a cricket premiership.
