David Zhungu has been a valued member of the Kinder Australia team since starting as an intern in 2020. With a Bachelor of Engineering Honors in Electrical and Electronics and an Associate Degree in the same field, David brings a solid technical foundation to his role as a Design Engineer. After transitioning full-time in 2021, David has been critical in designing crucial components for bulk handling systems.
David specialises in pulley design, CAD drawings, and the design of conveyor accessories such as skirting, idler frames, and rollers. His technical expertise also extends to supporting customers and Kinder’s sales team with his knowledge of conveyor safety switches and electric motors. David is driven by his passion for seeing projects through from the initial design phase to final manufacturing and thrives on collaborating with the broader engineering team.
As someone who continually seeks to enhance his skills, David is eager to gain further experience in mechanical engineering and is focused on expanding his professional network with both clients and suppliers. His problem-solving abilities were especially tested when he successfully designed and implemented an impact force measurement system for research purposes—a challenge that, although complex, reinforced his determination to grow in his role.
Outside of work, David has a passion for go-karting, flying remote-controlled helicopters, and simulator racing, with a keen interest in Formula 1. Looking ahead, he is committed to deepening his expertise in both electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines, ensuring that he remains at the forefront of industry innovations.
