The Victorian Branch of the IQA celebrated the graduation of this year’s qualifying Cert IV and Diploma level students at the annual presentation dinner.
Matt Shinners, Chairman of the IQA Victorian Branch got the Student Presentation Night underway, followed by guest speaker Steve Monaghetti. A name well-known to the Australian public, Steve has represented Australia at 4 Olympics, competing in the marathon (42kms). His best race was a well fought 5th place at Seoul in 1988. His best medal winning event was winning a gold medal in the marathon at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Canada. His list of achievements impressed the IQA dinner guests.
For 4 years now, Kinder & Co has provided prizes to the graduating students and CEO Neil Kinder, thanked the IQA for this opportunity. Neil shared with the students his passion for running in 100km and 80km ultra marathons. He described how his running requires energy, persistence and teamwork – being vital attributes for business success, as well as continued professional development.
Kinder & Co offers on-site Conveyor Maintenance and Safety training to all extractive and bulk materials handling professionals, and soon will be working with the IQA nationally to present modules on conveying best practice as part of the IQA’s Professional Development Programs.
